EAA Chapter 1611 members are a group of aviation enthusiasts of all ages, aircraft builders, and pilots of who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, learn from each other, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. EAA Chapter 1611 encourages and promotes sport aviation and aeronautical education in Southeastern New York.

EAA Chapter 1611 is located at the Orange County Airport in Montgomery, NY.

The chapter exists to:

  • Provide opportunities for aviation education and recreation to its members, and to the public
  • Benefit the Orange County Airport - KMGJ, and other area general aviation airports
  • Promote and grow general and recreational aviation in Orange County, NY

EAA Chapter 1611, Inc. operates as a New York State Not-For-Profit Corporation and is classified by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt public charity. All or part of any donation or gift (such as cash, tools, parts, aviation projects or other assets) may be tax deductible as a charitable contribution. Please check with your tax advisor.

Join Us!

Please come to our next gathering or event as our guest. Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our Chapter.

Monthly chapter gatherings are the third Thursday of every month at the Orange County Airport pilot lounge. 6:30 p.m. social time, 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. chapter gathering. 

We welcome all to stop in and see us for a program, presentation, fly-in event, or come talk to us about getting a free Young Eagles flight for the younger folks (8-17), and if you are sincerely interested in aviation and have always wanted to learn to fly, a free EAA Eagle Flight Experience for yourself.

Become a Member

We'd love for you to become a member. If you're still not sure, we can even set you up with a free 6-month membership to EAA.

Chapter regular member dues are $50.00 per year payable to Chapter Treasurer, or can now be paid via PayPal or Credit Card. Chapter dues are payable at the first meeting of the calendar year. New members joining after the first month are prorated at $4.20 per month through December of the calendar year. Under certain circumstances, EAA Chapter 1611 offers a complimentary 6-month Trial Membership to both EAA and EAA Chapter 1611. Student Memberships to EAA Chapter 1611 are free of charge to Student members of EAA. Contact us for more info.

About EAA Chapter 1611

EAA Chapter 1611, Inc. operates as a New York State Not-For-Profit Corporation and is classified by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt public charity, whose stated purposes are (among others):

  1. Promote and encourage the educational and scientific aspects of aviation, aviation history, building and maintaining experimental amateur built, light sport and kit aircraft, restoring and maintaining historic, vintage and antique aircraft, and general aviation and the steps necessary to become a pilot to the general public and to youth;
  2. Promote general aviation safety and safety in the design, construction, and operation of aircraft, and understanding of the federal regulation of aviation and maintaining compliance with that regulation through educational and other services or programs in cooperation with governmental agencies and private organizations;
  3. Promote and foster research for the improvement and better understanding of aviation and the science of aeronautics with the assistance and support of individuals and communities of aviation education and safety.

EAA Chapter Officers, Directors and Leaders serve without compensation and have sworn to carry out the mission of the organization set forth in the Chapter’s Certificate of Incorporation and Bylaws.

EAA Chapter 1611 has filed with the IRS for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization status, so donations of cash, tools, parts, aviation projects or other assets to the chapter will be fully tax deductible. We expect to receive the IRS determination acknowledgement by late January 2018.
